sphinx competition concert

Last Sunday we attended the 12th Annual Sphinx Competition at Orchestra Hall in Detroit, they support Classical music training for African Americans and Latino's! It was a great performance by the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra and the 3 performers in the competions. They were all amazing and make playing a string instrument look so easy....which we all know takes years of hard work and dedication to the art. Lori and I had great time hanging out with our friend Lisa L. and her sister, and meeting some of their friends.

It was very dark so this one is a little blurry, of the conductor.
and photo of the the beautiful theather.

a better photo of the performer during intermission.

these 4 little girls sat in front of us...and were friends of friends and they were all dressed up and having a great time.

Another photo of the ceiling....it's a very beautiful building.

Well off to run errands on my day off work, visit my brother Jim...who's in the hospital again. Then finish the laundry, some housecleaning and finish up my homework for this Saturday's class...so maybe I can go scrapbook on Friday night! Everyone enjoy our heat wave today...we might break the record and hit a high of 58! Whoo HOO! I am just glad to see the sun shine some days!
